The Mend team came to us with a challenge: to produce real photography on bags made in Uganda.
Using Inkodye photo-sensitive's properties, Mend bags are printed with very little water or electricity. The prints get their color and permanence by developing in the Ugandan sunlight.
The spraying system we developed allows photography to be printed on Mend's coarse all-natural canvas. Within a few minutes of exposure to sunlight, the image becomes permanent.
"Mend is a social enterprise geared toward facilitating financial independence and development for vulnerable women in northern Uganda. These women produce high quality bags designed to seam a personal connection between products, their makers and consumers."
